Top Maine Ron Paul Supporter Switches To Romney

RON PAUL U.S.A. | May 5, 2012
Wow, this is very rare and unfortunate.  Ryan Harmon, a state Rep. from Maine and a former Ron Paul supporter, just sent out a letter supporting Mitt Romney for
President!  This certainly does not happen often, but when it does it is very shocking.  I think the reason it takes me back is because supporting Ron Paul is so much more than just supporting a man.  It is a deep seeded, passionate set of ideals and values that are a basis from which we live our lives.  Mitt Romney does not, in any way, promote those same values and beliefs.

I think it is safe to say that Ryan Harmon just made a whole lot of enemies!  If he did not know the true passion of Ron Paul nation, I'm sure he will find out very soon!

Subject: Maine Republican Convention A Call for Unity
Dear Friends,

We are making incredible strides in our effort to restore liberty and fiscal responsibility to America. Over the past few months Dr. Paul has been an exemplary advocate for our shared commitment to the Constitution. I am sincerely grateful for his contributions and I am honored to have had the opportunity to support him.

With the General Election in sight, I believe that we can best advance our shared ideals by uniting with our fellow Republicans to challenge Barack Obama. Mitt Romney is a proven leader in the movement to restore prosperity and freedom to America and there is no doubt in my mind that he will be a principled President.

Friends, I urge you to join me in supporting Mitt Romney and voting for his slate of Delegates to the Republican National Convention. Now is the time for us to come together and unite as Conservatives.

In Liberty,

Ryan Harmon
State Representative
District #45
Burnham, Freedom, Knox, Montville, Palermo, Thorndike, Troy, and Unity
"Liberty lies in the hearts of men and women; when it dies there, no constitution, no law, no court can save it; no constitution, no law, no court can even do much to help it." - James Madison

  1. That's a terrific Madison quote in Rep Harmon's signature block.

  2. We must declare that Ron Paul is continuing to run as a third party candidate and create a new party. This will serve to break the 2 party strangle hold that is destroying the US.

  3. No third party stuff guys. Americans Elect - research who is funding them. It is NOT a bunch of nice people who want to see Paul in!!! We must stay firm in our path andFIX the GOP - not abandon it. The more people we get into the GOP (and that is happening at an amazing rate now) the more friendly the GOP will be to Paul. Changing horses halfway across the river now is a really bad idea. Third party is NOT the right thing to do - let's fix the GOP instead.

  6. The description is "deep-seated" not "deep seeded". Change it.
