Ron Paul to Visit University of Rhode Island

RON PAUL U.S.A. | April 11, 2012
The Ron Paul campaign has announced that Dr. Paul will speak at the University of Rhode Island on Wednesday, April 18th at 6:00 PM.  The event will be held the
Keaney Gymnasium at the Kingston campus.  The venue has a maximum capacity of 3,000 people, which may not be enough based on the crowds numbers are recent events in California and Texas. The university currently enrolls 14,546 undergraduate and 4,549 graduate students.

Dr. Paul's scheduled visit comes one week before Rhode Island's primary on April 24th, in which nineteen delegates are up for grabs.  Rhode Island in not a "winner take all" primary, and with Rick Santorum announcing he is dropping out of the race, there may be an opportunity for Dr. Paul to jump up and grab some additional votes from conservative voters.

Back in 2008, John McCain won this primary with 65% of the vote, followed by Mike Huckabee at 22%, Ron Paul at 7%, and Mitt Romney with just over 4%.
