Ron Paul Hot Air Balloon Causes Traffic Delays in South Carolina

GREENVILLE, SC (WSPA/WBTV) - Some South Carolina voters took their opinion to new heights and caused a traffic jam along a major interstate Thursday morning.

According to CBS affiliate WSPA-TV, supporters of GOP presidential hopeful Ron Paul inflated a hot air balloon along Interstate 85 in Greenville County, showing their support.

Two Ron Paul supporters inflated a hot air balloon off a frontage road which could be seen along the southbound lanes of I-85 near mile marker 52.

The SC Highway Patrol asked the supporters to deflate the balloon and the pair agreed, WSPA-TV reports. Troopers say no accidents were caused but the balloon caused a big backup in the area.

The men reportedly told WSPA staff that they are from Louisiana and came to South Carolina's upstate to raise awareness about the Paul campaign.
