Bloomberg: Candidate deficit plans laughable
WALL STREET JOURNAL | April 12, 2012
New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg says except for Ron Paul none of the presidential candidates have a credible plan for dealing with the nation's deficit.
Bloomberg made the comments Thursday at the Johns Hopkins Children's Center, where a new 12-story tower is being named in honor of his late mother.
Bloomberg says plans proposed by both Republicans and Democrats are "laughably political documents." The New York mayor says the nation can't keep adding $1.2 trillion a year to the deficit and the bond markets will eventually wake up.
Bloomberg is a Johns Hopkins graduate and former trustee and has donated hundreds of millions to the school over the years, including to the school of public health that bears his name.
